Videos circulating online showed lightning strikes in the United States on New Year’s Eve. Four specific locations were struck on the same night: the Washington Monument, the Capital Building, the Empire State Building, and the World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower.

On New Year's Eve, December 31st, 2024, while many were out celebrating the coming year, a massive storm system occurred over the northeastern section of the nation.

During the storm, a prophetic sign was projected in the sky over two specific cities and four locations, an imminent warning sign of things to come.

On New Year’s Eve, during the storm, lightning struck four prominent and historic buildings in the US in two key cities: the Washington Monument, the Capital Building in Washington, D.C., the World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower, and the Empire State Building in New York City.

They represent the nation’s two strongholds: the nation’s capital and financial capital.

While these videos have gone viral, and many people are generally correct in translating the lightning strikes into a sign, very few truly understand its true sign and meaning.

In the Bible, the number 4 symbolizes not just the foundation of the earth but also time, prophecy, and transition. Because the sun and the moon were not created until the fourth day, they symbolize time and serve as signs to the nation concerning appointed times, feasts, and festivals. This is exemplified by the transition from one year to the next, from 2024 to 2025.

Job 38:1 tells us that God spoke to Job from out of the storm. Matthew 24:7 also tells us,

For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

What this means is that a massive storm is on the horizon, and like Job, it will encompass trials and tribulations, testing, and as the Bible calls it, the time of Jacob’s trouble, the roaring and tossing of the seas, but just as the Bible also tells us, God will speak to us from within this storm.

We are not called to be afraid but to walk by faith; through this coming storm, many will find salvation.
