What happened

According to reports, the pilot was stabbed, supposedly by the copilot, causing the jet to plummet 15,000 feet. Passengers on board intervened and subdued the attacker, preventing a potential disaster. The plane was then diverted to Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely.

The aircraft had sent out an emergency code indicating a hijacking, prompting Israeli warplanes to scramble in response. Footage from the scene shows passengers tending to the injured pilot while the second crew member is seen tied up.

An Israeli official has stated that a major disaster was averted due to the swift actions of the passengers. The incident is currently under investigation.
