What happened
President Donald Trump recently discussed the Operation Midnight Hammer strikes on Iran, stating that the targets included both nuclear and drug facilities. Trump made these comments during a midterm campaign rally in Oklahoma.
According to Trump, the operation involved aircraft that spent 37 hours refueling before arriving over Iran, where they unloaded bombs on the targeted facilities. The president described the facilities as being involved in both nuclear and drug activities.
The precision strikes targeted three key Iranian nuclear facilities, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, using stealth bombers and submarine-launched missiles. The Department of War reported that the operation was a success, with Secretary Pete Hegseth stating that it devastated the Iranian nuclear program.
Following the Midnight Hammer strikes, the U.S. launched Operation Epic Fury, a joint operation with Israeli strikes. The operation targeted various sites, including IRGC command-and-control sites and air defenses, and lasted until a ceasefire deal was reached on April 7.
