President Donald Trump confirmed he rejected a peace proposal from Iranian negotiators, stating they made a proposal but he rejected it, without specifying the unacceptable points of the deal.

What happened

President Donald Trump has confirmed that he rejected a peace proposal from Iranian negotiators. The proposal was reportedly related to a ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump stated that the proposal was unacceptable, but did not provide specifics on what points of the deal were unacceptable.

According to reports, the proposal was based on a previous memorandum of understanding that had crumbled in July. Iranian leaders claimed that the new proposal had the same objectives as the previous MOU, but with the requests broken down into stages.

Trump's confirmation came after reports circulated about him shutting down a ceasefire proposal from Iran. The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump is planning to resume airstrikes against the regime after the midterm elections.

Trump told reporters that Iran wants to make a deal to reopen the strait because they are losing, and that the US has total control of the Hormuz Strait. He also stated that massive amounts of oil are coming out of the strait, with 29 ships passing through the previous night.
