Off-duty pilots landed a Tel Aviv-bound plane after the co-pilot stabbed the pilot, stabilizing the Boeing 737 Max for an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

What happened

An Israel-bound plane experienced a violent incident when the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the pilot, causing the aircraft to plummet 17,000 feet in two minutes.

The incident occurred approximately two-and-a-half hours after takeoff from Dubai, while the plane was cruising at 34,000 feet.

Two off-duty pilots, who were scheduled to pilot a subsequent flight, stepped in to stabilize the Boeing 737 Max and execute an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

The plane, Flydubai flight FZ1073, was carrying 174 passengers from Dubai to Tel Aviv when the incident happened.

According to passengers, the two relief pilots, one of whom was British and the other European, managed to safely land the aircraft.
