What happened
A commercial plane traveling from Dubai to Israel was forced to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after the pilot was stabbed by the co-pilot, causing the jet to plunge nearly 18,000 feet in minutes.
The incident occurred about two and a half hours into the flight, when the co-pilot attacked the pilot in the cockpit. The plane, which was carrying 174 passengers, including 27 children, dropped from an altitude of approximately 33,000 feet to around 15,400 feet in just 12 minutes.
Passengers and crew members rushed to stop the aggressor, and the plane made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Israeli fighter jets were scrambled as a precaution, and officials have announced a terrorism investigation.
