Global Communion Event Unites Christians in 156 Locations
CBN News

Christians gathered in 156 locations worldwide to take communion, with 50 people giving their lives to Jesus Christ in Florida, as part of a global remembrance of the Lord's last supper.

What happened

Christians from around the world gathered in 156 locations, including college campuses, state capitols, and public parks, to take communion and participate in worship, prayer, and evangelism. The three-day event, called Come To The Table, was held from September 24-26 and drew believers from different nations and languages to remember Jesus Christ's sacrifice.

In Florida, 50 people gave their lives to Jesus Christ following prayer and worship on the opening night of the event. The communion tables were set up in various locations, including Jerusalem, Israel, Puerto Rico, and the Middle East, as well as in an open valley near the site of a historic spiritual revival in Kentucky.

Ministry leaders, including Rick Curry and Lou Engle, shared visions and dreams about spiritual revival and communion, believing that revival and communion are related. The event was part of a larger movement to restore communion to prominence and unite believers around the world.

The 156 locations participating in the event included every state in the Union, and grew from a massive communion table on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. last fall, where 40,000 people gathered for worship and prayer.
