What happened
A FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Israel was forced to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the captain and attempted to crash the plane. The incident occurred as the plane was approaching Israel.
Passengers and crew members intervened, overpowering the co-pilot and regaining control of the aircraft. The plane was diverted to Tabuk, where it made an emergency landing. The pilot who was stabbed sustained injuries, and two crew members were hospitalized.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the co-pilot had undergone Islamist radical indoctrination, based on information gathered during questioning. An Israeli security official is investigating the possibility that the incident was an attempted Sept. 11-style terror attack.
The plane landed safely in Tel Aviv, with all passengers accounted for. The incident is under investigation, with authorities working to determine the motives behind the co-pilot's actions.
