What happened
Christians from 70 nations gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the biblical Feast of Tabernacles, also known as Sukkot. The event, hosted by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ), drew over 1,800 participants. The celebration began with worship in multiple languages, including English, Hebrew, and Arabic.
Representatives from each attending nation waved their countries' flags on stage, symbolizing unity and support for Israel. Israeli Arab ambassador George Deek welcomed the visitors, expressing gratitude for their presence and encouraging them to share Israel's story and stand against hatred when they return home.
The ICEJ has been hosting the Feast of Tabernacles since 1980, viewing it as a sign of the future fulfillment of Zechariah 14, where all nations will come to Jerusalem to celebrate Sukkot. This year's theme was based on Joel 3:16, which describes the Lord roaring from Zion and warning nations against dealing with His people.
ICEJ President Jurgen Buehler urged participants to pray for their nations, emphasizing God's care for individuals and nations. He warned that dealing with Israel is equivalent to poking one's finger in God's eyes, and encouraged participants to cry out for their countries to remain on Israel's side.
